A darkly humorous first-person adventure game, The Vault was developed through a partnership with the ARC Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions, the Queen Mary University of London, and Monkeystack. Designed to educate players and improve emotional literacy, The Vault immerses players in the personal stories of real-life historical figures who may not have interpreted or valued emotion in the way we do today.
As both technical artist and production supervisor on The Vault, I was responsible for leading a team of programmers and artists, managing tasks, providing feedback, and making sure all was delivered on time while also working on the implementation of game logic, designing levels, creating environment art, 3D animation, and visual effects. I was everywhere at once, and filled gaps where I could to ensure the project was a success.
The Vault won the “Best Console / PC Hardcore” and “Best Indie Game” awards at Game Connection Europe in 2018.
